One of CERT’s functions is to help our neighbors be prepared for anything from winter weather driving to major disasters, such as fires and earthquakes. This past weekend, CERT conducted a training session for anyone who wanted to learn how to put chains, cables or snow socks on their tires and the event was a big success, with 23 people getting one-on-one training with their car and whatever form of chains, etc. they have. Each left far more confident that they could now do this themselves.
A VERY BIG “THANK YOU!” to Ace Hardware and its Manager, Robert Welty, and employee Steven, for being great PMC community supporters and stepping up to help lead the training. Also, a big thank you to local resident, Niko Christiansen, for volunteering to be a trainer at the event. And thanks to all CERT members who participated in helping our local residents learn this important skill for driving on our snowy mountain roads.
